Ok guys, some really big news. I still have to be a bit vague though.

A really huge company is working on a business proposal to buyout the autOKdj source code and intellectual property. We should know in the next few weeks if this is going to happen, but so far all lights are green.

I can't code "Hello World", but i've been our guerilla marketing el capitan. Through the contacts i've made in the karaoke industry, i've been able to get the turn around time for this plan down to a few weeks.

From the start, Zug and I envisioned a better world for karaoke and legit ops. We also knew the only way we were going to make any money on this is through content and contacts. Between us, and the other autOK team members, we didn't have enough clout to make the karaoke companies give us content to resell. Basically, every time we asked, we were kicked in the nuts. This paticular company doing the buyout will have plenty of clout to make the content producers bend over, instead of getting kicked in the nuts.

So we got a new member of the autOKdj team, markbach. He's just started work on creating an online stats package for autOKdj. You can see an example of his work based on the 7 Bamboo singer histories here.

At some point, we would like to incorporate venue stats uploading into autokdj. This way you or your singers can view karaoke trends from around the world, all on one centralized page. Of course, this will be an optional feature. Feel free to discuss it on our forums.

In case you didn't notice... we just did a major upgrade on the forums to get rid of the massive amount of spam we were getting.

This upgrade had two effects that you may want to know about.

I'm not going to dress this up all legalese like. Just straight talk.

We all know what piracy is. If you don't know, here's a quick way to tell if you are pirating. To sum it up, if you get any major manufacturers karaoke (Sound Choice, Stellar, Pocket Songs, Zoom, Sunfly, DKK, etc) without paying for it, you're pirating.

So if you fit the above description please stop doing what you're doing. Go out and purchase a collection of karaoke. You have many avenues to legally purchase karaoke now, including downloads from the UK based Manufacturers and a handful of American ones. If you're not going to change what you're doing, please stop using autOK. We never have, and never will authorize it's use in conjunction with stolen material. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE RUNNING A KJ SERVICE WITH AUTOK.

New Beta 1.2 release of AutoKDJ Plugin for Winamp v1.0 has been released!

(Beta 1.1 had such an embarassing bug that I am pretending we never did it. :-P.)

Beta 1.0 of AutoKDJ is now available here in this post.

It used to be on a different server, but now it is here... Just another small step in our migrating away from the older server and moving everything to autokdj.com.

I use a method i've never seen discussed anywhere using a PC and Parametric EQ's. I've heard that it works for me because my sound card has really accurate A/D converters, but I think it should at least help in any enviroment.
