| Hey guys and gals.... Just found a way to improve the sound quality exponentially if you are using an analog mixing board like I am. Do a search on Ebay for a Flying Cow. It's a professional D/A A/D 24-bit converter box. It has RCA S/PDIF in and out, with balanced analog XLR and unbalanced 1/4" in and out. (Most of us won't be using the inputs, only the outputs). The sound quality is amazing as compared to my SoundBlaster Audigy that comes out 1/8" unbalanced. The midrange is especially smooth without the 'honkyness' I was getting directly with the sound card. I've got it connected to the S/PDIF out on the sound card, but would probably work just as well with the output on the mobo. |
